Many mosaic providers do not create true mosaic images, but merely tint the images. In contrast, Rapid-Mosaic offers various types of mosaics.

In the free version of Rapid-Mosaic, the generated mosaic images can only be uploaded to www.rapidmosaic.com and ordered as posters/canvases/... If you still want to save your images to develop them with your local printing service or for further editing, you can purchase the Professional Version of Rapid-Mosaic. This version allows you to save mosaic images as JPG files. The Professional Version is included in the Professional Package of Foto-Mosaic-Edda and is available here:

Rapid-Mosaic is our new, free software that allows you to easily create mosaic images for wall decoration and order them online. It is based on the libraries of Foto-Mosaic-Edda but is much easier to use. With the free version of Rapid-Mosaic, you can only order images online, which is sufficient for most users. Only with the Professional Version can you also save the mosaic images.
When installing Foto-Mosaic-Edda in German, Rapid-Mosaic is automatically installed and launched. If you want to continue using the "old" software Foto-Mosaic-Edda, you can find it in the installation folder, and it can still be launched and used.
After purchasing the software here, you will receive an email with the download link and an attached license file.
You can now use Rapid-Mosaic Professional.
Rapid-Mosaic generally tries to use all images in the folder at least once. However, there are two reasons an image might not be used:
The software's debug output during the calculation provides insights into the image inventory structure. For example:
... Database: Reading Database done. 1630 items read. Time: 128 ms.
... Database: Count (1630): landscape (959), portrait (668), square (3).
...
In this example, 1,630 images were found. Of these, 959 are landscape, 668 are portrait, and 3 are square. For the Classic and Detail mosaic images, landscape is chosen in this example. For the Parquet mosaic image, both landscape and portrait are used. For the Chaos mosaic image, all images are used, but some may not be visible as they are layered underneath.
Currently, there is no way to check if all images were used in the online version of Rapid-Mosaic.
The print sizes are stored in the file "C:\Users\<USER>\Documents\Rapid-Mosaic\PrintSizes.xml" or "C:\Users\<USER>\Documents\Foto-Mosaik-Edda\PrintSizes.xml." By editing this file with an editor, you can add or change print sizes. Note that only formats from the price list can be considered for online ordering.
Due to the server's SSL protocol update, Photo Mosaic Edda and
RapidMosaic need to be updated to the latest version 7.7.20050.1 from 02/19/2020.
Otherwise, the upload of the final mosaic will unfortunately not work
and will abort with the error message: "The request was aborted:
Could not create SSL/TLS channel".
Please download the latest version of the software to resolve this issue.
By using the latest SSL protocol, your data is optimally protected.
The mosaic image is developed as you see it in the Rapid-Mosaic preview. We do not make any post-production changes (black/white, blending, cropping). Also, pay attention to the print representation in Rapid-Mosaic. The size of the tiles as displayed there will be the same on the final product.
When using secured invoice purchasing, the payment provider attempts to assess risk based on the shopping cart, address details, and date of birth. In certain cases – often inexplicable to us – this risk assessment may be negative. We have observed this sometimes occurs with business addresses.
In this case, we can convert your order to a prepayment order, or you can use one of the many other payment methods. Simply contact us with a short message.
The size of the mosaic image must be set in the Rapid-Mosaic program before calculation. Based on the selected print size, Rapid-Mosaic calculates the ideal mosaic image. This ensures that the resolution of the mosaic image, tile size, and print preview are correctly set. After uploading the mosaic image from the Rapid-Mosaic software, only the set print size is offered in the order selection.

To utilize our resources as efficiently and environmentally friendly as possible, we require up to three business days for your image production. Once completed, the image is sent via standard shipping the following day. Shipping by the carrier generally takes one to five business days, especially for bulky items like large canvas, acrylic, or dibond formats.
Just like standard shipping, we aim to optimize production capacities in express shipping as well, avoiding excessive trimming and constant switching between different product types. Therefore, we also allocate up to three business days for production here. The image is then shipped via express and should reach you the next day. We pass these costs on to you without any markup.
With Priority Express or express production, we interrupt the current production for a product type and prioritize your image immediately the same day (if ordered before 8:00 AM). Since this interrupts our workflow, it involves considerable extra effort for us. This additional effort is charged with an express production surcharge. After production, the image is shipped via express and should reach you the next day.
Currently, we can only offer shipping from Germany within Germany, to Austria, and Switzerland. For Austria and Switzerland, expect higher shipping costs. It's super easy to create a mosaic picture using your own images. There is the option to choose between different types and color schemes (colorful, sepia, BW).
One point deducted because it is not stated anywhere beforehand that you cannot save the image yourself, but instead can only order/download it directly on canvas.
